A Brief History of the Church
Frampton Park Baptist Church, as it is now called, was founded on Sunday, 13th May 1798, when eight Believers gathered for worship in a Meeting House on nearby Shore Road, then known as Shore Place. The sermon text was Ephesians 2:22 “And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” John Rance, the first Pastor, noted in his diary: “Now from this small beginning of a Baptist Church in Hackney, which is the first to be formed in that place, I trust the Lord will raise up many to show forth His praise.”
The church moved to its current location in 1956.

In 2015, we moved into the new building.
For the last 9 years or so, we have had a slightly different style of leadership. Rather than the previous traditional model of bringing in an accredited Baptist minister from outside we developed a core leadership team from within the congregation consisting of 2 part time bi-vocational Co-Pastors (one paid, one unpaid) and a full-time Church Manager. The paid Co-Pastor has recently resigned hence the search for a new Pastor.
